Why are Dallas players wearing them?

It’s been less than a month since the tragic suicide of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshon Neeland, and the team is planning to honor him in a touching way throughout the remainder of the season. Dallas debuted the No. 94 helmet decals last Monday against the Las Vegas Raiders, and they will continue to wear them — including on Thanksgiving Day against the Kansas City Chiefs — throughout the 2025 campaign.

The Cowboys have shown serious mental toughness in the wake of the Neeland tragedy. Dallas has won two in a row to keep its playoff hopes alive – including a 21-point comeback win over the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles last week.

First-year coach Brian Schottenheimer and his players have navigated this painful situation as best they can, so credit to them.
