Instead, the series focuses on a time of relative peace for Westeros, when the hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his new companion, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), venture to Ashford Meadow for a tournament. who is the king in this a knight of the seven kingdoms?

current lord of the seven kingdoms a knight of the seven kingdoms Daeron II Targaryen, who does not actually appear in the show. She is presumably in King’s Landing, while her sons Maker (Sam Spruell) and Baelor (Bertie Carvel) are headed to Ashford Meadow.

In reference to other Targaryens you may be familiar with, King Daeron is the great-grandson of dragon houseRhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith). He is also the great-grandfather of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

But only because King Daeron does not attend a knight of the seven kingdoms That doesn’t mean it’s not interesting in its own right. george rr martin world of ice and fire Presents his rise to power and key elements of his rule.

King Daeron had a contentious relationship with his father, King Aegon IV. While the latter wanted war with Dorne, which was not yet part of the Seven Kingdoms, the former encouraged peace.

Aegon began spreading rumors that Daeron was not his legitimate son, and was instead the product of an affair between his wife (and her sister) Nerys and his brother Aemon. Although he never formally rejected Daeron as his heir, Aegon legitimized all of his bastards on his deathbed in a final “screw you” to his son. Their bastard sons with noble mothers became known as the Great Bastards and caused great drama. But then again, would we expect anything less from the Targaryens?

One of the Great Bastards, Daemon Waters, dubbed himself Daemon I Blackfire and laid claim to the Iron Throne. Thus began the First Blackfyre Rebellion, which spread throughout Westeros and lasted from 195 AC (after Aegon’s Conquest) to 196 AC. By the end of the rebellion Daemon and his sons were destroyed, and Daeron retained the Iron Throne. This would be the last major point of conflict during their reign, though it would not be the Blackfyre Pretenders’ last Westeros match. (After all, it’s the “first” Blackfyre Rebellion for a reason.)

Outside of the Blackfyre Rebellion, Daeron’s reign was peaceful and eventful. He managed to do what Aegon the Conqueror and many of his descendants could not: incorporate Dorne into the Seven Kingdoms, without much bloodshed.

Before becoming Prince of Daeron, he married Princess Myria Martell as part of a peace treaty with Dorne. Once he became king, he negotiated with Prince Marron Martell of Dorne to bring Dorne into the Seven Kingdoms.

For his kindness and intelligence, King Daeron became known as Daeron the Good, putting him a huge step above most people. About other Targaryens we’ve met game of Thrones And dragon house.
