White House’s Hassett says ‘happy to serve’ if chosen as Fed chair

WASHINGTON, Nov 30 (Reuters) – White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said on Sunday he would be happy to serve if President Donald Trump picks him as the next chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve.

Hassett’s comments, which were made on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” came after Bloomberg News reported last week that he had emerged as the frontrunner to replace Jerome Powell, whose term is set to end next year.
