An easy option would be when New Orleans defensive lineman Shay Tuttle threw an acrobatic interception during a return and forced famously hard-armed Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan into oblivion. I’m sticking to the same 2019 game for my favorite Thanksgiving moment, but I’ll go with New Orleans Giants and Atlanta offense Cameron Jordan. Jordan gave Ryan 4 sacks in that 2019 performance, New Orleans’ 26-18 win in Atlanta. Two of those sacks came during the Falcons’ final drive.
Requiring a touchdown and a 2-point conversion to tie, the Falcons recovered an onside kick and set up near midfield with just under two minutes to play. Jordan sacked Ryan for a short tackles loss on the opening play of the drive, followed by back-to-back sacks by Demario Davis and Sheldon Rankins a few plays later, but one was canceled out by a defensive penalty against the Saints. Atlanta pushed the ball up midfield, but was stopped on a fourth-and-8 situation with just 50 seconds remaining. Jordan again broke down the Falcons’ offensive line and sacked Ryan, sealing the victory for New Orleans. It was one of 25 sacks by Cam Jordan against the Falcons in his tremendous career, but was arguably the most important takedown leading his team to the Holiday victory.
