Vanity Fair recently published an interview with co-writer and director Shawn Levy Star Wars: StarfighterWhich is currently in production, with a targeted 2027 release date. The interview itself is pretty bare in terms of details about the film, which stars Ryan Gosling and Flynn Gray along with Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Amy Adams, and more.
However, there’s also a new image to go along with it, along with some quotes about Levi’s enthusiasm. And, if you are one star wars Fans, this is remarkable. You can see the photo in all its glory over on the Vanity Fair site, and here it is via social media.

There, you see Levi and some of his crew members on what apparently appears to be a ship. we love star wars Ship, aren’t we? unfortunately, Vanity FairIt is not clear from the description of the photo whose ship it is, or which ship it is. (“Sweater by Brunello Cucinelli; Jeans by Rag & Bone; Personal watch by Rolex; Hair products by Living Proof; Beauty products by BioEffect,” it reads. Thanks very much for the relevant information.) But, of course, we want to guess.
Since this is a carefully approved publicity image from a carefully conducted preliminary interview, there is not much to be extrapolated from it. But Levi is standing inside the ship at the top of a ramp that appears to lead outside. Around the corner is another ramp that leads to another area of the ship. This means this ship has at least two levels, potentially a larger size than we are used to. This is no “starfighter”, nor is it the ship we saw in the first official image at the top of this article.
There are also nets on the floor, which one might imagine could be used for smuggling. However, we don’t think so. Would you really plant your secret smuggling bins right at the entrance of the shipno way. No, looks like these are just vents. Is this space for storing something,
And, of course, we can only guess whose ship this is. The easiest guess is Ryan Gosling’s character, since he is the focus of the film. But there is no evidence either way. All we know is that it’s a ship Star Wars: Starfighter, And it’s quite significant that Levi and crew built a set of it.
We’ll certainly find out more in the coming months, as more details about the film emerge. It is scheduled for release on May 28, 2027. Do you see any other details we’re missing? Let us know below.
