Holy crap… Waypoint-1.5 is one of the first generative world models that actually starts to feel like a playable first-person action game!
Sure, there are still some awkward moments (weapon switching feels a little awkward at times, and some enemies make you want to laugh), but the shooting mechanics and overall fluidity are far beyond what I’d expect from a generic model. The frame rates and responsiveness are so high that it actually feels like a proper first-person shooter built by an experienced team, rather than something thrown together on the fly.
What makes this particularly interesting is that most world models until now have been about passive exploration. It already feels very much mechanics-first, with the first-person action emerging very naturally from the interaction loop.
Running locally on a regular GPU makes it even more impressive. If you haven’t tried the Biome client yet, definitely do.
