A new trailer gives us our best look yet at the upcoming film Ghost in the Shell Anime. While this may not tell us much about the direction of the show in terms of plot, it certainly is aesthetically pleasing, with a vintage art style that looks much more like the original manga than other adaptations. This series will be released on Prime Video this July.
Ghost in the Shell It is being produced by Science Cypress. The studio hasn’t revealed much about its story, only noting that it’s based on Masamune Shirō’s manga, so it’s not entirely clear yet how closely it will follow the source material. The franchise has certainly seen its fair share of questionable adaptations over the years. But, this glimpse of the art style seems like a promising indicator. An exact release date has not been announced yet, but July is not far away.
