James Cameron really can do it all. Write and direct billion dollar movies? check. Inventing a whole new franchise in his sleep? check. Diving deeper into the ocean than one should ever do? you betcha. Do you imagine worlds so vast that you literally have to invent technology to create them? Yes that too.

All this said, when you learn that Cameron not only co-wrote, directed, produced, and edited Avatar: Fire and AshesBut he also operated the camera occasionally, which is not surprising. But it’s still incredibly fun to watch.

Below, io9 has an exclusive clip from the upcoming home release of the third Avatar, Fire and AshesWhich is coming to digital on March 31, before being released on all physical media formats on May 19. In this, you’ll see Cameron taking control of his set in a way that most directors would never dare. But most directors aren’t James Cameron.
