Warriors vs. Thunder injury report: Steph Curry out, Jimmy Butler III questionable

As of Tuesday night’s 8:00 pm PT tip-off, the Golden State Warriors face arguably their toughest challenge of the season tonight. challenge? The 20-1 Oklahoma City Thunder, who enter the Bay Area riding a 12-game winning streak… face only one Dubs team that is without Steph Curry (though Seth Curry will suit up for the first time!).

Not only is Curry out, but the Warriors may be missing a few other players as well. Here’s the full injury report.

Outside – Steph Curry (left quadriceps injury)

No surprises here. Curry is out tonight, and he’ll likely be out for a few more games. Warriors will be very cautious of him.

Outside – Al Horford (right sciatic nerve irritation)

Sciatic nerves are nothing to mess with, and unfortunately, Horford is learning that lesson the hard way. Chet Holmgren and his defensive presence against the Thunder will be greatly missed.

Outside – D’Anthony Melton (left ACL surgery)

There is considerable optimism that Melton can return to the court during the team’s upcoming road trip, which begins on Thursday and ends on Sunday. But he’s still out at least one more game due to an injury suffered early last year.

Outside – Alex Tuohy (recovering from left knee injury)

Tuohy has not yet made his NBA debut, although he has appeared in a few games for the Santa Cruz Warriors, although they have not been particularly good.

Suspicious – Jimmy Butler III (left gluteal contusion)

Butler suffered a hard fall during Saturday’s win, but remained in the game. The Warriors have a very slim path to victory with Curry out, and that path will almost end if Butler can’t play tonight.

potential – Draymond Green (middle right foot sprain)

Like Butler and Curry, the goal with Green is to make sure he stays healthy for a long time, not necessarily for this game. However it certainly looks like he will be playing in this game as well.

Outside – Isaiah Hartenstein (right soleus strain)

The loss of Horford is at least mitigated by OKC being without their starting center (though let me remind you now that Jalen Williams is back after a long absence to start the year).

Outside – Alex Caruso (right quad pain)

Well, at least we’ll be spared the comments about how great Caruso would be on a Steve Kerr team.

Outside – Luguentz Dort (right adductor strain)

The Thunder are still heavy favorites. After all, they still have a healthy Holmgren, Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, while the Dubs are without Curry. But Hartenstein, Caruso and Dort being out is certainly still a hit for OKC.

Outside – Nikola Topic (surgical recovery)

Topic was a lottery pick in 2024, but has yet to make his NBA debut. He is currently recovering from surgery to treat testicular cancer and, as we always say around here, there are some (many, even) things bigger than basketball. Here’s hoping for the best for the topic.

Outside – Thomas Sorber (right ACL surgical recovery)

After one year at Georgetown, Sorber was drafted 15th overall in the June draft. However, he would miss the entire season as he was recovering from an ACL injury.

Available – Brandon Carlson (nose fracture)

Carlsen was a question mark, but is good to go now. The undrafted center, who is playing in his second season, has had a modest role off the bench this year.

Enjoy the game, Dub Nation. It will air at 8:00 pm PT on NBC, Peacock and NBC Sports Bay Area.
