After taking a break from playdates after season two and that amazing experience blippo+I finally dusted off my little yellow console this week and am back. And what better place to start than with some games about cheese? Cheese ‘n Crackers And Tell me when! Both hit the Playdate catalog recently, but aside from thematic similarities, they’re two very different games. As an extra gift (unrelated to cheese), I also took this Were-Wolf Campfire Storiesa free game on itch.io It’s actually over a dozen bite-sized games.
Cheese ‘n Crackers
When it comes to snacking, everyone has their own preferences. Some people crave the savory taste of umami, while for others, a sweet dish is always appropriate. Or maybe you’re like me, and if you have one, the other has to follow. Creating Snacks That Are a Hit Correct! What is Cheese ‘n Crackers It’s about everything.
In this playdate game, you essentially have a never-ending charcuterie board with all the fixins you can imagine. There are meats, cheeses, spreads, spices, vegetables, fruits and a variety of crackers and breads to garnish with those toppings. You’ll need to combine ingredients to create the perfect snack for whatever group you’re serving. Each group – such as Speed Daters or Grandma’s Bridge Club – has a specific set of guidelines that may include preferences, dietary restrictions or dislike of certain flavors.

Although combining ingredients is fairly intuitive, there are specific combinations that will net you more points, so you’ll have to pay attention to the details of each food item. Or, you can turn to Cheese ‘n Crackers Compatibility spreadsheet for all the information in one place. Yes, it exists, and it is a scaremongering act by the Pak organization. Toppings will go bad if they sit out for too long, so you won’t want to spend too much time scrubbing spreadsheets, but it’s still a relatively low-pressure game that you can play at your own pace. However, for the more competitive among us, there are leaderboards so you can challenge yourself with scores to beat.
Tell me when!
This is the more intense of our cheese games, with a root bear,The kind of structure that sees you leaning towards the revolving door of restaurant patrons and using the crank to try to grate the right amount of cheese for their meal. And despite being called Tell me when!your customers (a lot) united nationsHelpful) won’t actually tell you “when” you can stop cranking; To know when they are satisfied, you have to pay attention to their quirks – moustache movements, changes in facial expressions, etc.

There’s a customer satisfaction meter at the top of the screen that will be hit any time you under- or over-serve the cheese, or suffer if you’re moving too slowly, and once it gets to the bottom, you’ll be fired. After each shift, you will be given the option to use a modifier that can help you in areas like customer satisfaction or getting the boss off your back. To mix things up, there are also mini-games that pop up in between your shifts. For example, you might be grating cheese in anger and then you have to switch gears and save the life of a choking customer.
It’s fast-paced, it’s silly and once you get on it’s very hard to quit.
