Donald Trump threatened “consequences” for Netflix if it did not fire board member Susan Rice. Rice served in both the Obama and Biden administrations, and recently appeared on Preet Bharara’s podcast, where she said corporations that “kneel to Trump” will be “caught with more than their pants down. They will be held accountable.”
Right-wing influencer and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer immediately came out and accused Rice of “weaponizing government and threatening half the country with political retribution.” He also noted that Netflix, which has Rice on its board, is trying to merge with Warner Bros.
Of course, this is one of Donald Trump’s favorite stories, that he is somehow the victim of political oppression. It is the Democrats, not them, who have weaponized the government and the Justice Department against perceived enemies. Trump attacked Loomer’s post, saying “Netflix is racist, Trump should fire Susan Rice immediately, or face consequences.”
