President Donald Trump said he would expunge every document signed with Autopen by his predecessor Joe Biden and would charge him with perjury if Biden lied about its use.
The post is the latest example of Trump going after his perceived political enemies by using the power of the federal government to legally charge his political opponents.
“Any document signed by Sleepy Joe Biden with an Autopen, which was about 92% of them, has been extinguished, and has no further force or effect,” Trump said on Truth Social. “AutoPen is not permitted to be used if not specifically approved by the President of the United States.”
Biden’s use of the AutoPen has become a sticking point by Republicans, who have argued that previous administration staffers who used the AutoPen to sign executive orders and legislation were too old when Biden, 82, left office. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has said Biden’s “cognitive decline” means he was not aware of the pardon he signed.
The President said that “radical leftist lunatics” took the presidency from Biden and, therefore, the documents signed by him were void.
“I am hereby rescinding all executive orders, and anything that was not signed directly by the crooked Joe Biden, because the people who conducted AutoPen did so illegally. Joe Biden was not involved in the AutoPen process and, if he says he was, he will be brought up on perjury charges,” Trump said.
