Treylon Burks does his best Odell Beckham Jr. impression with spectacular 1-handed TD grab for Commanders vs. Broncos

Can’t get better catches than this. With 9:58 left in the third quarter of Sunday’s game between the Commander and Denver Broncos, Washington quarterback Marcus Mariota looked toward receiver Traylon Burks in the back right corner of the end zone.

Broncos cornerback Riley Moss had blanket coverage. It didn’t matter. Burks reached up with his right hand and knocked the ball out of the air. He pulled it into his body with his right hand and held onto it as it fell backwards onto the ground, keeping the moss on top of him.

Touchdown, Commanders, on one of the best catches you’ll see this or any NFL season.

However, as sensational as it was, it certainly wasn’t one of a kind.

On November 23, 2014, Odell Beckham Jr. shocked the football world with a one-handed 43-yard touchdown grab from Eli Manning that fans had never seen before. That catch – even in prime time on “Sunday Night Football” – lives on as one of the great highlights of NFL history.

Ten years and a week after his sensational catch, Beckham took to social media on Sunday night to express approval for Burke, who coincidentally shares his No. 13 jersey.

Due to improved skill, inspiration from Beckham, and the aid of advanced grip-enhancing glove technology, players have since made catches similar, if not quite as spectacular, to Beckham.

If any, few were better than Burks on Sunday night.
