Trail Blazers’ Shaedon Sharpe Upgraded to Questionable vs Spurs

The Portland Trail Blazers face the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night at Moda Center with a chance to punch their ticket to the NBA Cup Knockout Round. And the home team could get a vital reinforcement back just in time for the matchup.

Blazers starting guard Shayden Sharp has been upgraded to questionable to play against San Antonio, the organization announced Tuesday. The springy fourth-year guard is dealing with a right calf strain that has kept him out of Portland’s last four games.

Sharp’s return will be especially helpful as Portland’s backcourt has been ravaged by injuries. Five Portland players will be unavailable for Wednesday’s game. They are all guards – Jrue Holiday (strained right calf), Scooter Henderson (strained left hamstring), Blake Wesley (fractured right foot), Matisse Thybulle (injured left thumb ligament) and Damian Lillard (injured left Achilles). With all of these players out recently, the Blazers have been relying on extended minutes from two-way players Caleb Love and Sidi Sissoko.

Other than the five inactive players and Sharp, no one else is listed on Portland’s injury report for Wednesday’s match. The Blazers will face the Spurs at 7 pm Pacific.
