The big star here is the listening experience, driven by a pair of 40-mm carbon cone drivers originally built for the 700 series speakers. The Px8 has an incredible sound profile that our reviewer Simon Lucas called “excitingly efficient, informative and engaging to listen to without being pretentious” and particularly lauded the low frequencies for their excellent definition. They have an impressive build and substance, something you’re unlikely to find in other headphones at this discounted price range.
Not being one of the big names in noise-canceling, we were impressed with the implementation of both flight and regular noise canceling, though did note that settings are limited to on, off, or passthrough. The associated Bowers & Wilkins app has a nice set of options for some equalizer adjustments and other settings, and you can connect your streaming service of choice for in-app listening if you want. They also have good battery life, with up to 30 hours of playback on a single charge and fast charging for seven hours of music after just 15 minutes.
Price and availability vary by color, and at the time of publishing I saw the lowest price for the tan version at just under $420. Black, Dark Forest, and Royal Burgundy were also marked down by $500, but some of the default listings were not shipped and sold by Amazon, so be sure to double-check before purchasing if that’s a concern.
