making a stage show Wicked The two films were quite controversial. Now, because the film versions have been hugely successful, everyone is imagining what a potential third movie would be like, and one person has a really cool idea for it.
Speaking to Deadline, Dana Fox, who co-wrote the script Wicked: for good Original show writer Winnie Holzman pointed to a specific line at the end of the new film that she believes could be an ideal way to continue the story. If, of course, that happens. No plans at the moment, but when Wicked: for good Earns around $200 million this weekend, which could very well change.
This line is from the very end of the movie and may be considered a spoiler, so here’s your warning.

In Wicked: For the good, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) fakes her death at the hands of Dorothy (as seen in). the Wizard of Oz) and travels to a mysterious place beyond Oz to live with her prince-turned-Scarecrow, Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey). Glinda (Ariana Grande) isn’t fully informed about the plan, and there’s only a hint that maybe she thinks her friends are still alive. And so, in the movie, Elphaba says the line “I know she’ll never know we’re alive.” It is left there as the couple walks off into the sunset, but Fox feels it is the way to go for a third film if it happens.
“I would be honored if someone asked me to be a part of rogue 3,Fox said. “And I think they’re such lovely characters that seeing what they were going through meant so much to me to that moment when Elphaba says in the voiceover, ‘I know she can never know we’re alive.’ I felt like someone was feeling like they were asking to find out that they were alive at some point. It really feels like, ‘Hello.’ That’s spicy for me. I like the idea that we might meet him again someday.”
Which again, is not going to happen in the present, but one never knows. This especially applies when you look at the original source material. Before movies, most of us knew Wicked As in this hugely successful Broadway show. But the show was based on the 1995 book by Gregory Maguire, which spawned several sequels. The musical was already quite different from Maguire’s books, but the source material is still there with plenty of ideas about where Elphaba and Glinda will go next.
