A new official White House app on Android and iOS takes content from the White House website and copies it into app format. A tweet announcing the app Friday morning appeared alongside a video joking about a missile launch, also showing an iPhone instead of the elusive Trump phone. There’s no word about specific features or tie-ups with the phone or Trump Mobile services.
The handful of tabs in the app mostly mimic the pages that exist on the Trump administration’s version of the White House website, including news, livestreams, social feeds and a gallery. A prominent “Contact” button on the social feed tab includes an option for users to submit a tip to ICE, taking them to a tip form on the ICE website. It also includes options to send a message to the President, contact the White House, or sign up for a newsletter – we can suggest some better ones.
