However, the exclusive configuration is what makes this deal even more special. Amazon is actually selling a more powerful model with the Snapdragon X Elite chip for less money than the X Plus model.
However, besides just the price, what is it that makes it one of my favorite laptops? My favorite feature is the 3:2 aspect ratio display, which is slightly taller than your average laptop screen. I’ve always found it to be a very productive screen to work on, and whenever I switch back to a 16:10 display I feel it’s missing. Talking about the display, this is one of the few laptops at this price point that comes with a 120-Hz refresh rate, which goes a long way in making the entire laptop experience smoother and more responsive.
One problem is that it only comes with 256 GB of storage. 16GB of memory is great, but you may need some extra storage, but the 512GB model is sold out at Amazon (and other retailers don’t have as strong a deal).
To me, it seems almost absurd that you can buy a laptop this premium for only $700. Despite being discontinued for over a year at this point, it still gets excellent, all-day battery life and is surprisingly powerful. I wouldn’t try to play modern games on it, but you’ll be surprised at how fast its performance will seem for everyday tasks. The MacBook Air at $750 is, yes, close, but features like the higher refresh rate make the Surface Laptop stand out even more.
