Following a teaser in September that confirmed the film’s title, Nintendo and animation studio Illumination released the first proper trailer super mario galaxy movie In a dedicated Nintendo Direct. sequel to super mario bros movieThe highest-grossing film based on a video game will be released in US theaters on April 3.
The trailer starts off with Bowser engaging in a little art therapy, which, let’s be honest, might actually be pretty good for him. I don’t want to reveal everything that happens, so just watch the trailer. As you’d expect from Illumination, the visuals look spectacular.
The trailer also confirms the inclusion of two fan-favorite characters this time around: Rosalina (who takes down a giant robot with her abilities) and Bowser Jr., who is replacing his father as the sequel’s villain. Rosalina is played by Brie Larson, while Benny Safdie voices Bowser Jr.
An additional clip following the trailer shows Rosalina reading a story about Princess Peach to a group of Lumas. In another feature, Bowser Jr. promises that “the name Bowser will be feared once again.” ominous!
However, the direct did not include any indication of Yoshi appearing in the film. An Easter egg at the end of the first film featured Yoshi’s egg breaking. Additionally, a Pillsbury cookie box – of all things – all confirmed that Yoshi will be in the film, while the inclusion of Princess Rosalina and Bowser Jr. is hinted at. We’ll probably have to wait until the next trailer to get a glimpse of Mario’s dino friend, who will probably be green, even though everyone knows in their hearts that the blue Yoshi is the best Yoshi.
