Enter Rocco, who will keep your Gamay at a perfect 58 degrees on the bottom shelf while keeping your Stella Artois at 38 degrees a few shelves below. (I used a wireless thermometer to check the temperatures on various shelves; they were useless.)
Did I mention it’s gorgeous? In a world of wine fridges that look like Holiday Inn minibars and mini grids that look like they came out of a dorm, the design-forward Rocco has a distinctive look that’s neutral enough to fit into rooms with Midcentury and modern furniture.
And did I mention there’s $500 off for the next 5 hours? As of publishing time, with free shipping.
The “Smart Fridge” branding is perhaps a bit gimmicky. In addition to the design, which is incredibly thoughtful and flexible (it has space for both cans and 750ml bottles), it has an app-based lock, and can allow you to prioritize cooling over volume when it’s constantly being opened (party mode) or to stay quiet in your home theater (quiet mode). There are other things the app is supposed to do, but I haven’t had any success connecting the fridge so far – this seems to be a common problem. There’s no Android version of the app, and it doesn’t even work with older Macs, but my iPhone 15 Pro Max and M1 laptop also failed to connect after more than an hour of trying. If I get this working I will report back.
What you get with the Rocco is a great-looking space to store drinks behind a three times thick layer of rimmed glass, with a choice of several attractive colors, and the ability to keep a variety of drinks at the perfect serving temperature. Oh, and a small branded serving tray and a deck of round playing cards.
