The Noah Wyle-led and executive-produced series returns with its sophomore season in January. It is set 10 months after the events of the season 1 finale and takes place over the Fourth of July weekend.

On behalf of Scott Gemmill and producer John Wells, the pit Describes the urgent challenges facing American frontline health professionals through the lens of the emergency department of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Offering a real-time format, the series traces the hour-by-hour, medical cases and personal crises physicians and nurses must navigate due to an overload of patients and a lack of resources.

Allen will play Roxy Hamler, an emergency department patient; Friderici as Cora Wilkins, a woman visiting a patient in the emergency department; Handley as Paul Hamler, the husband of an emergency department patient; Kober as Duke, a motorcycle engineer who moves back in with a doctor.
Apart from Vile, the pit It also stars Katherine LaNasa, Shawn Hatosy, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Aziz, and Jeran Howell. The new season 2 stars Sepideh Moufi as a series regular and includes Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Letitia Hollard, Lucas Iverson and Lawrence Robinson in recurring roles.
The series is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where the company is under an overall deal. Gemmill created the series and serves as an executive producer alongside Wells, Wyle, JWP’s Erin Jonto, Simran Baidwan, Joe Sachs and Michael Hissrich.
