The pint-sized Sonos Roam 2 is more over 20 percent this weekend

Sonos is no stranger to the occasional sale. The iconic audio company regularly runs sales around Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day, and the Super Bowl, though it’s rare to see substantial discounts on its portable speakers outside of tentpole shopping events. Luckily, if you’re not interested in the Sonos Move 2 or the upcoming Sonos Play, sonos rom 2 Currently available at Amazon, Walmart, and Sonos for $139 ($40 off), which is just $5 less than its lowest price ever.

The original Sonos Roam wasn’t a bad speaker by any means, but a quality of life update walking 2 Really worthwhile, especially if you were the type of person who was constantly struggling to pair the first generation model with anything via Bluetooth (guilty as charged). The latest Roam has a dedicated pairing button on the back – meaning you don’t have to hold down the power button for a set amount of time to sync it with a new phone – plus it also lets you tap into Sonos’ larger ecosystem of products via your home Wi-Fi network.

The sound quality remains unchanged, although this is not necessarily a bad thing. The first-generation Roam was one of the best-sounding speakers in its class, with a pleasantly crisp vocal performance and enough depth to satisfy most people, especially when Sonos’s automatic TruePlay room optimization tool did its thing. It’s a bit of a bummer that the USB-C port is only for power, and the battery life lasts for 10 hours, but I expect most people will be using it at the park or just for an afternoon at the pool. After all, it has IP67 waterproofing, which means it can withstand up to 30 minutes of immersion in 3 feet of water.

Perhaps the best part, though, is that Sans claims to have made some changes and optimizations under the hood to keep battery performance longer, which was the essence of the original model. I haven’t had Rome 2 long enough to say for sure, but so far, so good.
