The OneXSugar Wallet is the first gaming handheld with a folding screen

Folding OLED displays are still commonly found on premium smartphones and laptops, but the One-Netbook is bringing the technology to a new gaming device. Its new OneXSugar wallet is reminiscent of the company’s folding OneXSugar Sugar 1 handheld that launched earlier this year. But instead of two screens, the Wallet handheld reveals just one large 8.01-inch OLED screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio, as seen retro handheld,

The OneXSugar wallet was announced yesterday on China’s Weibo, but few details were given about its features and capabilities. That folding OLED screen has a resolution of 2480 x 1860 pixels, and the handheld will be powered by an unspecified “Qualcomm gaming platform flagship processor,” but its performance and emulation capabilities are unknown.

Based on photos and video released by One Netbook, the OneXSugar Wallet will have a standard set of controls that include asymmetric thumbsticks, four action buttons, and a D-pad located on either side of the bottom half of its display. There are also shoulder buttons and triggers on the back of the handheld and a pair of front-facing speakers in the upper half of the screen. The biggest question is how much will the handheld cost? There are already $1,000 handheld consoles, but folding screen devices like the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 cost closer to $2,000. If OnexSugar Wallet is equally expensive will gamers adopt it? Maybe it’s called a wallet for a reason.
