Tickets are already on sale, and anyone hoping for any special features like videos featuring current stars may be out of luck, as it looks like Universal is just treating it like a standard screening. But then again, you get to see Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz on the big screen again, and isn’t that its own bonus? And a nice treat to the Scorpion King’s 2001-era CG?

It also grossed well in its run, and began its own series of films with many of the actors playing Matthias in the sequel after Johnson’s departure.

That, and the fun of these films would be a good counter to the more depraved, potentially satirical entertainment that exists in Lee Cronin’s The Mummy When it hits theaters on April 17.
