The most fascinating monitors at CES 2026

To enable RGB-stripe subpixels and higher refresh rates, LG Display said it has increased “the ratio of pixel area to light emitting.”

Similarly, Samsung Display announced at CES that this year, Asus and MSI will release monitors with Samsung’s new QD-OLED panels, which use a vertical RGB subpixel structure that the company has named “V-Stripe.”

“The biggest technical challenges in mass-producing high refresh rate panels with the new pixel structure include the short lifetime of organic materials, heat generation and brightness degradation,” Samsung Display’s announcement said. “By taking advantage of the top emission structure of QD-OLED, which provides brightness benefits along with improvements in organic material efficiency and design optimization, we were able to mass-produce a high-performance monitor.”

Some publications demonstrated RGB-stripe OLED monitors at CES and reported that text looked much better than on other OLED monitors.

LG and Gigabyte also announced that they will release OLED monitors with RGB-striped subpixels this year.

In true CES fashion, Samsung’s latest Odyssey 3D monitor surpasses its predecessor in every way.

Samsung launched its first Odyssey 3D monitor last year. We found the glasses-free 3D experience to be impressive, but it was hard to recommend the monitor given its limited game support.

At the time, Samsung’s Odyssey 3D Hub app, which is used to launch stereoscopic content, had 14 games. At the time of this writing, there are 29 3D-supporting titles (you can see the full list on the Microsoft Store), but that still might not be enough to warrant a purchase price of more than $2,000 as we expect based on the release price of the previous Odyssey 3D.

However, the lack of apps for a glasses-free 3D gaming monitor hasn’t stopped Samsung from releasing a great alternative. The 2025 Odyssey 3D sports a 27-inch 4K IPS screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. The 2026 model measures 32 inches and supports 6K resolution (6144×3456) at a refresh rate of 165 Hz. It is believed that the monitor will smoothly drop down to 3K resolution (3072×1728), at which point it will run at 330Hz. Although you don’t need the specs to get the most out of this monitor, you will need a fairly powerful GPU.
