As a candidate in the 50th Hunger Games, Haymitch is fighting against 47 other children selected by the Capitol. Glenn Close’s Drusilla Sickles says, “Double the number of tributes, double the glory.”
Longtime fans of the books will recognize younger versions of characters from the series like Effie Trinket (Elle Fanning) and President Snow (Jesse Plemons), as well as other young players Haymitch faces like McKenna Grace and Ben Wang. It won’t be a good time for Haymitch and the other kids, but Lionsgate hopes it will be a good time for audiences when The Hunger Games: Sunrise at the Reaping It will be released in theaters one year from today on November 20, 2026.
