I have received Many Star Wars gifts over the years. I spent the first Christmas Day I remember flying Luke and his X-Wing around the house. I met Darth Vader (David Prowse) when I was 6 years old. I can still feel the shiver of fear as he walked through the double doors, came around the crowd and shook my hand, and my father held me. I never questioned why the Dark Lord of the Sith was in Woolworth’s.
When I became a father, I had a new excuse to travel to that galaxy far, far away and buy new toys. (I still regret selling my own stuff at a garage sale to raise money for my first house.) My wife and I love the original movies, and our kids love the prequel trilogy, but we all enjoyed watching the latest show together. Everyone knows I’m a fan, and I’ve received (and been given) countless Star Wars gifts over the years. These are some of my favorites.
