The usual bells and whistles like power windows and a central touchscreen are gone (instead you use your phone as an infotainment hub), and the truck comes unpainted in blended gray, but owners can personalize it with a wrap. You can also add more than 100 custom accessories, from body panel and wheel options to kits that turn the pickup into a five-seat SUV, all designed for DIY installation. Power comes from a direct rear-motor, rear-wheel-drive setup, producing around 200 hp. The 52.7-kWh battery gives a range of 150 miles, while the 84.3-kWh pack is good for 240 miles.

In what feels like the culmination of the longest tease campaign in automotive history, there will be an Afela 1 in 2026 At the end Stay with us. The joint venture, combining Sony’s software, sensors and entertainment with Honda’s automotive manufacturing know-how, will deliver the first Afila 1s in California before expanding to other states and, eventually, international markets later this year.
A dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup produces about 480 hp drawing from a 91-kilowatt battery that should be enough for about 300 miles of EPA range. Sony and Honda want the Afila to stand out in the tech stakes: The car is equipped with 40 sensors – including 18 cameras, lidar and radar, and 12 ultrasonic sensors – to support driver-assistance systems and a future hands-off autonomous mode. Sony is also working on entertainment, including 360-degree immersive audio, integrated gaming, and the ability to stream PlayStation content during charging sessions. However, it won’t be all that cheap, as the starting Signature model will cost around $90,000.

When Xiaomi launched the SU7 electric sedan in China in March 2024, there was so much excitement for the release that the company took 50,000 orders in the first 27 minutes of the sale. This is almost equal to the number of all Cybertrucks sold to date. Two years later, Xiaomi is giving the EV more than just a mild makeover (we’re looking at you, Tesla), as the 2026 SU7 comes with significant upgrades. Lidar-based advanced driving assistance comes standard on every trim level, computing power has been significantly increased (up to 700 trillion operations per second), and the 900-volt architecture will bring dramatically faster charging. With that battery come remarkable range claims: China’s Kinder CLTC is reported to have more than 560 miles on the cycle, but that still makes it one of the longest-range EVs in the country. The exterior saw more subtle enhancements: wider rear tires, larger brake calipers and refined grille details. All this for $32,800 in its local market. Be careful, Tesla Model 3.
