Hallmark Christmas movies are a staple of every holiday season. They provide well-deserved warmth to people at this time of year, extracting magic from everyday situations and always bringing the two main characters together for a happy ending. Their predictability is what makes them more beloved by loyal audiences who enjoy well-known tropes. This year, Hallmark began premiering its Christmas movies in October, and by Christmas Day it will air more than a dozen movies. Here is a ranking of the best Hallmark Christmas movies of 2025 based on descriptions, social media buzz, and critical reception.
15. an alpine holiday (November 29)
Another Hallmark holiday favorite, Ashley Williams, stars in this film about estranged sisters who reunite for Christmas in the French Alps, recreating the trip they took with their grandfather. Kelly (Lacey J. Malley) also finds romance with her cute mountaineering guide. But most of all, the sisters discover that their bond is the most important thing to both of them.
14. A Suite Holiday Romance (13 December)
Ghostwriter Sabrina (Jessie Schram) is incredibly excited to start her new job working for a famous art dealer during Christmas week. Staying at a grand hotel, she meets a British aristocrat, Ian (Dominic Sherwood), who thinks she is a wealthy traveler. It turns out Ian isn’t quite what he seems – but sparks fly between them when they visit New York City together.

The queen of Hallmark movies, Lacey Chambers, plays Isabelle, an inspector at the Naughty or Nice Group, where Santa Claus outsources his annual inventory. But her latest case, passing judgment on a particularly naughty girl, becomes complicated when Isabelle falls in love with the boy’s widower father (Andrew Walker). Suddenly, she’s questioning everything about her job and her future.

12. Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper (25 October)
Hometown return alert! When happy-go-lucky meteorologist Ted Cooper (Robert Buckley) moves back to his small hometown of New York, he’s hoping to overcome the bad luck he’s had at Christmas for the past three years. Things aren’t looking good after she falls down a staircase on her first day back, but during her trip to urgent care, she encounters her former high school crush (Kimberly Sustad), now a doctor who keeps an eye on her for the same reason.

Nell (Lindsy Fonseca) doesn’t like being alone on Christmas. After her usual family plans fall through, she decides to spend the week before the holidays doing things she loves – and gets some advice from her handsome neighbor, happily single Cooper (Daniel Lissing). Unfortunately, Nell discovers that Cooper was only spending time with her because he felt sorry for her – had she imagined their spark?
10. Melt my heart this Christmas (November 16)
Holly (Laura Vandervoot) is an aspiring glassblower who exhibits her wares under a pseudonym at a prestigious local fair after being rejected by Jack (Stephen Huszar), who oversees entries. When Holly’s glass begins to outshine even the biggest names at the fair, she faces a dilemma, as she and Jack have grown closer throughout the holiday season.
9. A Keller Christmas Vacation (November 9)
The Keller family parents decide to bring their three children together for a vacation cruise on the Danube River – but the siblings aren’t feeling the family togetherness. However, they gradually lose their reluctance, as they share a family secret and also find romance and new friendships, things they never expected but need at this festive time of year.
8. Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story (22 November)
Perfect for sports fans, this film tells the story of two families who are members of the Bills Mafia, fanatical fans of the Buffalo Bills. Gabe (Matthew Daddario) has always loved his neighbor, Morgan (Holland Roden), and so when Morgan comes to him with a family mystery he needs to solve before Christmas he’s happy to help. The film includes cameos from players including Bills coach Sean McDermott and Damar Hamlin.
One of the best Hallmark Christmas movies of 2025, “Tidings for the Season” stars BJ Britt, Eliza-Justus Lewis and Tamera Mowry-Housley.

7. News for the season (November 16)
TV movie favorite Tamera Mowry-Housley plays a single mother (Lucy) whose 10-year-old son approaches local newscaster Adam (BJ Britt) to encourage him to tell more positive stories. As Adam and Lucy grow closer, he begins to recognize the importance of sharing good news with the world, and her stories reflect his new feel-good approach. But will Adam stay with Lucy or leave with a new job offer in another city? (You probably know the answer.)
6. Christmas at the Catnip Café (30 November)
Olivia (Erin Cahill) travels from California to a small town in New York at Christmas time to sell her share in a cat café left by her great aunt – the sale would be the perfect way to finance her new condo. Alas, the veterinarian who owns the other half, Ben (Paul Campbell), wants to stay in the business. She compromises by promising to help a little before selling – giving him time to realize the joys of the special place.
5. Oye to the world (14 December)
Hallmark has opened up its holiday movies to a handful of Hanukkah movies. At the latest, Christmas Eve and the last night of Hanukkah fall on the same night, and members of a local temple need to go to the church across the street to celebrate after a water pipe bursts. It brings together former high school rivals Nikki (Brooke D’Orsay) and Jake (Jake Epstein), leaders of the church and temple choirs, to put on a show together. Of course, sparks fly.
4. a make or break holiday (December 20)
Couple Liv (Hunter King) and Daniel (Evan Roderick) can only agree on one thing right now – they need a break from each other. However, their timing couldn’t be worse, as their families are coming to town for their first joint Christmas. They decide to pretend that they are still a happy couple, only the more they keep pretending, the more their old feelings begin to resurface.
3. A Grand Ole Opry Christmas (November 29)
Gentry (Nikki DeLoach) returns to the Grand Ole Opry decades after her famous country singer father had an accident, causing Gentry to abandon her dreams of stardom. She is somehow transported back to 1995, when she gets a chance to spend more time with her father and get answers to the questions that have haunted her – while also having a lifelong friend (Christopher Polaha) with her.
2. A Newport Christmas (2 November)
The film takes audiences back to 1905, when Newport, Rhode Island, socialite Ella (Ginna Claire Mason) desires a different life when her father says he has found her a husband. Ella somehow wakes up in 2025, where she falls in love with a handsome sailor and historian. Despite being happy with her new life, she realized that she had to go back to ensure that she kept Newport on the right path in history.

Annie (Autumn Reaser) and Dave (Niall Matter) meet in a magical holiday hotel – but they fail to get each other’s contact information, and spend the rest of the film trying (and often comically failing) to reconnect. By the time they’re reunited (not that much of a spoiler), they’ve learned a lot about themselves and what they value during the holidays, a classic theme of Hallmark Christmas movies.
