Swatch MoonSwatch Mission To Earthphase Moonshine Gold Cold Moon: Price, Specs, Availability

First a confession: I own more Moonwatches than I care to admit. Let it never be said that WIRED doesn’t hold back when it comes to recommending products — Swatch has painstakingly wrung a lot of cash out of me, in increments of $285. There is no doubt that this was the Swiss company’s nefarious plan to lure us, then, very gently, into watch fans. The horrible equivalent of boiling a frog. It’s worked—Swatch has made millions of dollars from Moonwatch sales so far.

But while I’ve been a fan of the Omega Employing a piece of Omega’s special 18K light yellow gold alloy in slightly different ways on each design, they seemed almost cynical – a way to milk Moonwatch superfans for completing the set.

Now, however, just when I thought I was done with the Moonswatch—I’ve upgraded everything I own with the official $45 color-matched rubber straps—the Swatch has managed to snare me once again, And With Moonshine Gold Model: New Moonwatch Mission to Earthphase Moonshine Gold Cold Moon.

Clumsy moniker aside, this version takes the all-white 2024 Snoopy model (WIRED’s top pick in the entire collection), mixes it with an Earthphase Moonswatch, and swaps out the inferior original strap for an improved white and blue Swatch rubber Velcro. Aesthetically, it’s certainly a win, but it’s not Cold Moon’s party trick.

On each $450 Cold Moon Moonswatch, a snowflake is lasered onto its Moonshine gold moon phase indicator – and, like a real snowflake, Swatch claims each will be completely unique. When you consider the volume of Moonswatch watches produced each year, this is no mean feat.
