Survivor Series WarGames: Who actually attacked CM Punk?

Survivor Series: WarGames provided more questions than answers on Saturday, but entertainment and creativity. Liv Morgan made a surprise return, a mystery man set up The Vision Team to win the men’s WarGames match, and AJ Lee pinned Becky Lynch in the women’s WarGames match.

Who is the mysterious man?

This is the biggest question after Saturday’s Survivor Series. At the conclusion of the Men’s WarGames match, a man dressed in black and wearing a hood climbed over the cage and delivered a superkick and stomp to CM Punk. Those moves are reminiscent of Seth Rollins, who has been sidelined with a shoulder injury, but this seems like an unexpected signing. It’s probably an old competitor. Could it be Randy Orton, who has been away for two months? Perhaps the Austin Theory, which has been out of action since July? Or, if we want to take a wild guess, maybe AEW wrestler Chris Jericho, who will set the wrestling world on fire with his return to WWE for the first time since 2018. Whatever it is, it will be a big reveal, given the way Survivor Series ended in a suspenseful ending.

It was a big deal for Braun Breaker to finish the men’s WarGames match

After an attack by the mystery man, Breaker hit a spear and pinned Punk. The match started with Punk and Breaker in a staredown that felt like a five-minute hunger strike for a future world title match between these two. This idea was cemented after Breaker saw Punk win the match for his team. It could have been Logan Paul, who put in a great performance for Team Vision (double suplex with Drew McIntyre on Punk and a kip-up followed by a midair biceps pose), but Breaker made the pin, and that says a lot. I believe Paul is the future World Champion, but after Survivor Series it looks like Breaker could be the next challenger for Punk.

Liv Morgan returns to help Dominic Mysterio defeat John Cena for the title

WWE Superstar Liv Morgan made a spectacular return to the ring to help Dominic Mysterio defeat John Cena.

In a match full of interesting twists and turns, Mysterio defeated John Cena to regain the Intercontinental Championship. “Dirty Dom” dished out all the “lies, cheats and steals” involved, including faking a shoulder injury, which caused referee Chad Patton to call medics, setting up Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Pérez to attack Cena. Dom then got up as if nothing had happened, but the referee refused to count out, allowing the match to continue. Dom also highlighted Eddie Guerrero’s actions at WrestleMania XX against Kurt Angle by loosening his boot, allowing him to shock Cena while trying to apply an STF. The ending was spectacular: Liv Morgan returned and slapped Dom, then hugged Cena. In a callback to Cena’s heel turn in March, Morgan’s expression turned from joy to emotionless, followed by a kick to the groin of Cena, helping Dom win the match. Dom reclaimed the Intercontinental Championship and is back with Morgan. This was a hugely entertaining and great win for Dom, who has competed in three of Cena’s last four WWE matches, which is a huge accomplishment.

Stephanie Wacker defends her title

Wacker defeated Nikki Bella to retain the Women’s World Championship and it was the right decision. Bella is a WWE Hall of Famer and deserves the accolade, but Wacker is the present and the future. Wacker has had a number of challengers, many of whom were participating in WarGames matches. speaking of which …

AJ Lee shines in WarGames

In the Women’s WarGames match, Lee partnered with Black Widow to get a submission victory over Becky Lynch, leading to hopes of a singles match between the pair at WrestleMania. Iyo Sky (with an Iyo Sky-branded dustbin) had the moment of the match – and perhaps the night – by leaping onto his opponents out of the cage while wearing the dustbin. Lash Legend performed brilliantly as he dominated the match as soon as he entered the match. The former WNBA and college basketball player has high potential. Charlotte Flair’s costume was inspired by 7-year-old Scarlett, who has a brain tumor. Really classy move by a WWE Superstar.
