SACRAMENTO – The Phoenix Suns overcame several second-half upsets to edge the Sacramento Kings 112-100 in NBA Cup West Group A play at Golden 1 Center on Nov. 26.
Improving to 3-0 in NBA Cup group play, Phoenix (11-7) will face defending NBA champion Oklahoma City (18-1) on Nov. 28 in OKC for the top spot in West Group A.
The Thunder are 3-0 in West Group A play after defeating Minnesota 113-105 at home on Nov. 26.
If the Suns beat the Thunder, they will win West Group A and host an NBA Cup quarterfinal game in Phoenix.
If Phoenix falls to OKC, it can still clinch a wild card spot in the West if it has a higher point differential than Friday’s Memphis Grizzlies-LA Clippers winner.
Point differentials going back to November 28: Suns (+35), Grizzlies (+14) and Clippers (-9).
Mark Williams and Collin Gillespie led Phoenix with 21 points each, Devin Booker added 19, Dillon Brooks had 13 and two-way player Jamari Bouia added 11 points off the bench.
The Suns took a 25-point lead in the first half. The Kings (5-14) scored eight points each in the third quarter and fourth, but Phoenix responded to their latest surge with an 8-0 run to take a 102-86 lead with 5:53 remaining in the game.
Phoenix is 2-0 over Sacramento this season. The Suns came back from 20 points behind to top the Kings, 120-116, in the two teams’ season opener last month.
Keegan Murray and Russell Westbrook led the Kings with 19 points apiece.
The Suns were still without Grayson Allen (right quad injury), Jalen Green (right hamstring strain) and Ryan Dunn (right wrist sprain), ,
The Kings were without Domantas Sabonis (partial meniscus tear of right knee) and Dennis Schroder (right hip soreness).

The Phoenix Suns led by 25 points in the first half and led 67–45 at halftime.
Collin Gillespie, in his first start of the season, scored 14 points in the first half, with 11 coming in the first quarter.
Phoenix led 41-16 after one. The Suns shot 53.8% from the field in the first quarter, going 6 of 14 on threes, while the Kings shot 35.3% from distance, going 1 of 7.
Gillespie entered the game averaging a career-high 11.6 points.
Devin Booker scored a game-high 15 points while Dillon Brooks scored 13 points.
The Suns scored 17 points in the first half off 10 Sacramento turnovers.
Gillespie gets start for Suns
Collin Gillespie got his first start of the season as Jalen Green, Grayson Allen and Ryan Dunn remained out with injuries.
This will be phoenix’s 11th Different starting lineups.
The Suns (11-7) are starting Gillespie, Devin Booker, Dillon Brooks, Royce O’Neal and Mark Williams.
The Kings (5-13) have Russell Westbrook, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Keegan Murray and Drew Eubanks in their starting lineup.
Eubanks played one season for the Suns in 2023–24.
Gillespie is averaging 11.6 points, 25.5 minutes, 4.9 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game in his career.
The 6-foot-1 guard made the game-winner with 6.7 seconds left to give Phoenix a 114–113 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 21 at the Mortgage Matchup Center.
