io9 recently visited Disneyland to get a taste of this year’s spectacular offerings. (Admission was paid for with the author’s own Magic Key Pass; dining vouchers were provided by Disney Experience for this review.) The Disney parks tend to focus more on traditional winter treats, like the Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure and The Great Hunt for the Mickey Mouse Gingerbread Man (it’s worth it), so sometimes pop culture buffs can feel a little left out.
One of the most intense of this year’s experiences, for example, is a character dinner at the resort’s Grand Californian Hotel themed Mickey’s Christmas CarolWhere you can meet the iconic animated adaptation versions of the characters during the feast, including a very serious Goofy in the form of Marley. Reservations for the season are largely sold out for that unique Disney offering, but you can try your luck on the park app, where you can sometimes score a spot from last-minute cancellations.
However, thankfully this year there’s a Life Day Marvel at Galaxy’s Edge and a fun multiversal menu at Avengers Campus that will satisfy those looking for cool pop culture snackage.
Deadpool’s Chimichangas at Pym’s Test Kitchen – Disney California Adventure

In addition to Avengers Campus hosting its own live holiday special, which we haven’t been able to see yet because the show’s running time is so limited, Deadpool has also taken over the menu at Avengers Campus’ main restaurant, Pym’s Test Kitchen, for the season. Naturally, fans will be excited to try the Merc with Mouth’s favorite quintessential comic-book-accurate food: chimichangas.
These are not for the faint of heart (burners), but are very useful. The cross-section reveals huge chimichanga cheese and spicy ground beef, charred poblano for that kick, loaded with beans and guajillo sauce to balance it out. The tortillas that cover the shareable feast look like they represent an embrace between Wolverine and Deadpool, with a delicate claw mark indicating that it comes from DP’s kitchen with love and some involvement from Logan. A little accent makes it!
Compared to some of the other stunt holiday foods out there, this one actually has those fun comic book nods while still being pretty tasty. It’s nicely spiced, and there’s no skimping on the red sauce. This is such a nice, hearty theme park plate – not pint-sized, like other holiday festival fare – and it will definitely help fuel you up during the busy holiday season. Just wait to eat it after you proceed Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BreakoutWe don’t want snowflakes falling, although Chef Deadpool would be proud either way,
star wars Galaxy’s Edge – Life Day Snacks at Disneyland

The in-universe menu options in Galaxy’s Edge began to become so alien to the average park-goer that quick-service restaurants soon changed the names of things on the menu to reflect what they were actually made of. Tip Yip (Andorian chickens) are now very clearly marked as chicken, which is somehow star wars Mythology buffs will agree that this is kind of nonsense. But even with mass appeal a key consideration, sometimes, we get some winning fandom foodie combinations.
Chewbacca celebrated with his friends and family when Disneyland decided to adopt the canon holiday, thanks to the creator star wars holiday specialIt slipped in some seasonal fun to test the reaction of Batuu tourists. This year, the menu has become more robust, and we were able to try some of the snacks that have gone viral, because, as we found out, they’re really, really good.
First up was the Life Day Cheese branch from Cat Saka’s Kettle. We want it to be called Orga Root; Specifically, Wookiees eat it to spiritually ascend to another level and connect to the Life Day Tree, where they celebrate with loved ones living and passed. To be honest, it may have been called so because its taste took me on a spiritual journey to cheese nirvana. The seeds, Parmesan, cream cheese, and spicy Alfredo dipping sauce really blew me away.
And Kercoidan Cold Hot Chocolate? In our opinion, blue milk should always be like this. It’s a creamy white chocolate and Mexican chocolate-based elixir presented as an iced and spiced cereal milk and comes with strawberry pastry crumbles. I’d drink this more often than the frozen fruity slush at the Galaxy’s Edge milk stand and hope it gets added to more of Blue Milk’s offerings in the future. Give as much milk as you want!
We’re totally impressed, and as you know, Disney, certain foods are integral to Life Day – especially in that branch, so these need to be brought back every year.
The holidays are in full swing at Disneyland Resort through January 7, 2026.
