age: 19 game: soccer

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England’s race for Euro 2025 glory – coming off the bench to score vital late equalizers in both the quarter-finals and semi-finals.

Agyemang’s surprise intervention led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament, and later in the year she was awarded the Golden Girl Trophy, awarded to the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Copa Trophy for the world’s best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who is on loan at Brighton from Arsenal until September 2024, ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament while playing for the Lionesses in October.

Agyemang said: “It is an honor to be on the shortlist for BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.

“I thank God and appreciate the support I have received from my family, coaches, teammates and fans – I appreciate you all.”
