In the trailer, he watches social media videos of MJ and Ned’s first day at MIT and yearns for their company – especially when they become his neighbors.
As if the crushing loneliness wasn’t enough, Spider-Man: Brand New Day It also sees Peter undergo some serious physical mutations, including developing biological tentacles. For help in that case, he turns to another expert on traumatic superhero transformations: Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo).
Bruce isn’t the only MCU favorite seen in the trailer. Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) is also in the mix, harassing Peter in a high-stakes car fight. Plus, from the villain Scorpion (Michael Mando). Spider-Man: Homecoming is back, one of the many scary bad guys Peter faces in the trailer.
Noticeably missing? Sadie Sink, who has been confirmed to star in an as-yet undisclosed role. IGN speculates that she appears briefly in the trailer as a character in a long coat and gray hoodie, who appears to be a powerful psychic. Could this be our first look at the MCU’s take on Jean Grey?
Will Peter be able to come back into MJ and Ned’s lives? What’s happening to his powers? how else will it happen Spider-Man: Brand New Day to install Avengers: Doomsday? We will have to wait till July to know this.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Will hit the theaters on July 31.
