Spectrum reports mass internet outage in Casper area

UPDATE: According to a Spectrum spokesperson, service was interrupted after a technical issue, and was restored around 11:30 p.m.

CASPER, Wyo.–Spectrum Internet customers are experiencing a major outage across the Casper area Sunday morning, including outages reported at Bar Noon and Mills.

According to an automated text message from Spectrum Services, service restoration time is expected to be around 1:30 p.m.

Social media posts on the Facebook group Casper Classifieds said Spectrum’s internet and cable service was down, with some people receiving messages with a restoration time of 12:30 p.m.

Oil City News has contacted a Spectrum spokesperson for more information.

While the outage is not affecting mobile services in Casper, the incident occurred in April, 2025, when a BluePeak subcontractor accidentally cut key fiberoptic cables, knocking Verizon and Spectrum out of service for hours.
