Long-distance road trips have become much easier now, at least for travelers. Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between two Japanese conglomerates formed to manufacture electric vehicles, announced that its Afila EV will come with PS Remote Play. Although playing video games in the car may be a niche feature, it means drivers have something to do when parked, and passengers can play their favorite RPGs during long drives.
According to the announcement, Afila will be able to remotely control your PS5 and PS4 consoles through the infotainment system’s integrated display. You can even take your DualSense controller from home and jump straight back into the game after jumping into your Afila. Sony Honda Mobility said that playing requires a 5Mbps broadband connection, and the 15Mbps rate will provide a smoother experience.
This is not the first time we are hearing about PS Remote Play in an EV. The joint venture previously showed off the Afila 1, which is set for its first deliveries in 2026, and its ability to remotely play PlayStation titles at CES 2024.
