Some Central Arkansas districts delay school due to icy conditions | What to know

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Meteorological winter has officially begun in Arkansas, and parts of Central Arkansas started the week with freezing rain and near-zero temperatures.

As a result, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 6:00 am on Monday, December 1, 2025 until 6:00 am on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

This means that in some areas, snow and sleet accumulations up to a few tenths of an inch are expected (mainly in northern Arkansas) and light sleet accumulations up to two tenths of an inch are expected in isolated pockets (mainly in west, central, north and northeast Arkansas).

Due to the weather, some school districts in the area are delaying the start of the school day. Check out our list below:
