Snapchat’s new Quick Cut stitches a video together for you

Snap has just launched a new Quick Cut video editing tool inside Snapchat that “helps Snapchatters turn their favorite Memories into beat-synced, ready-to-share videos in seconds.”

With Quick Cut, you can select multiple photos or clips and then “instantly preview the rendered video,” and the feature is accessible from multiple locations in the app, including Memories and your Camera Roll. When you’re making a video, Quick Cut also automatically adds music and syncs it with the clip you’re playing, though you can change the track if you want, and you can even add Lenses to your Quick Cut video. If you want to make more detailed edits with tools like the Timeline Editor, you can do so before posting the video.

I spent a few minutes messing around with Quick Cut, and it’s fun and easy to use. With only two short clips I took, Quick Cut was able to automatically stitch together a goofy video that cuts between parts of both videos in time with the theme song. stranger thingsFor real content creators or even someone who just wants to make something fun for their friends, I can see how Quick Cut could be really useful,

Quick Cut is now available on iOS, and Snap plans to expand it to “more surfaces and Android devices soon.”
