The internal team based in Finland will be responsible for all development, including future content updates and the long-awaited console version launching in 2026.
This step has been taken after the sequel of city construction and almost two years of efforts to save the reputation of all the parties. While the game was initially expected to launch on PC and consoles in October 2023, the launch was limited to PC with more minimal specifications than previously announced and a lot of bugs. Ongoing issues created tension and toxicity between the Colossal Order and City: Horizon audience. Although the game has reached a more stable state, new content has been delayed and there is still no sign of a console launch as the studio backed out of its project.
