Sixers’ Andre Drummond leaves Nets game with a knee sprain

Andre Drummond left the 76ers’ game at the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night with a right knee sprain. The veteran center fell to the floor after contesting a second quarter shot, then had his right leg grabbed and then helped off the floor. The 76ers announced that he would not return to the game.

Drummond was enjoying a resurgent season for the Sixers, entering Friday and averaging 8.3 points and 10.7 rebounds in 16 games filling in as the starter while Joel Embiid dealt with both knee issues early in the season. Drummond totaled seven points and four rebounds in 10 minutes before leaving the game.

Fellow center Adem Bona returned Friday after a five-game absence due to an ankle sprain. Rookie Johnny Broome also saw action in the first half after Drummond left the game. If Drummond and/or Embiid are still sidelined after Friday, Dominic Barlow and Jabari Walker are small-ball options at the center spot.

The Sixers were leading 63-48 at half time.
