There were reports of a shooter at the Annapolis Mall in Maryland.
On November 28, a shooter was suspected at the Annapolis Mall in Maryland. The mall is located at 2002 Annapolis Mall Road, Annapolis.
One person on Facebook said his daughter had called to inform him about ‘a shooter at the mall.’ “My daughter just called from the Annapolis Mall. Apparently there’s a shooter at the mall??? Does anyone know anything???,” he commented.
People claiming to be witnesses said there were police cars at the scene, and several said the mall was closed. On X also a person said that the entire mall has been locked.
A person on Twitter claimed the shooting occurred at or near the Macy’s at the Annapolis Mall. Another update claimed that a fight broke out over a new shoe falling and a man displayed a gun but did not fire. However, the sight of the gun reportedly caused panic and people started running and calling him the shooter, prompting an immediate reaction, the man claimed. He said the mall has returned to normal operations.
“I heard it was a fight that broke out because a new shoe dropped in front of DTLR. Someone showed a gun but no shots were fired, but when he showed the gun everyone got scared and started running away calling him the shooter,” the Annapolis resident wrote on Facebook.
There has been no confirmation yet from the Annapolis Police Department regarding the incident.
Reactions to reports of shooting at Annapolis Mall
One person claimed there were people ‘outside and on rooftops’ amid reports of gunfire. “Oh my God, I hope everything is okay!!” One person said. Another said: “What?! Praying!”
One person claimed that they were entering the mall when they saw police cars and a man crying. He wrote, “I was going inside, I saw police cars, a man was crying and people were consoling him, ambulances and fire engines were also coming.”
