So instead, I thought about my needs as someone with an upper limb disability, and I talked to other people with disabilities, including those who use wheelchairs or have lower body disabilities, to find out what they look for in their sex toys. This includes devices such as slings, pillows, and chairs that help determine position during sex (or solo play). (More on that below.)
Since I have vaginal and upper limb disabilities, many of the toys I tested were for people like me, but many, like app-connected G-spot and clitoral toys, have similar versions with the same in-app features, except for people with penises or those who prefer anal play.
I considered many factors including weight, height, circumference; Was the toy easy to hold or could it be tied down; If you can simply lie on it or use in multiple positions; And whether it can be controlled via buttons (and how difficult they can be to press), in-app, or with a remote control. Once the person realizes what he or she needs from a toy for his or her body and ability, it will be easier to choose the toy that will work best.
I tested several sex toy holders, including ones that fit into a pillow to attach or lie on, and a sex toy holder that sticks to surfaces or locks into place. I also tested several toys that one could easily rub, lie on, or sit on.
I wasn’t able to test the hand harness to hold the toy in your hand, as it wouldn’t fit in my small hand, but this may be a more controlled way to hold a sex toy rather than rubbing it against a pillow, rubbing it, or using a surface mount.
The Liberator Wedge was also highly recommended to me, but I wasn’t able to test it either. This angular pillow makes sex easier for people with non-standard bodies or those who suffer from pain, as they can reach the necessary angles and positions to relieve pressure. As I mentioned above, a pillow also helps to achieve deeper penetration with partners with smaller penises or larger bodies, where it may be difficult to reach the genitals without additional help.
Brands like IntimateRider make chairs and sex accessories for wheelchair users, paraplegics and others with spinal cord injuries and similar disabilities, where traditional sex may not be an option without these valuable devices.
