Sennheiser introduces new TV headphones bundle with Auracast

Sennheiser has unveiled its RS 275 TV headphones, which come bundled with the BTA1 digital receiver. These headphones use Auracast technology to provide low-latency audio at a range of up to 50 meters, and can connect to other devices enabled with Auracast or Bluetooth Classic. For those unfamiliar, AuraCast broadcasts Bluetooth audio; We have an explainer about this audio technology once it’s brought to the big stage at CES 2024. The digital receiver projects the Auracast signal into the physical space to any other compatible devices, which may include hearing aids or loudspeakers as well as other headphone sets.

The company promises 50 hours of listening with the RS275 TV headphones on a single charge, and the set can be powered from the receiver’s USB-C port. Sennheiser designed the headset for long-term comfort; The ear cushions and battery can be replaced by the device owner. The headphones can be further personalized with the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app. In addition to finding lost headphones, the app offers controls like transparency mode, left-right balance, listening profiles, and device-type audio modes.

The RS275 TV headphone bundle will cost $300, while a standalone BTA1 receiver will cost $130. Pre-orders will open on February 3 and shipping of the audio gear is expected to begin on February 17.
