Again directed by Tyler Gillette and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, the filmmaking duo who go by Radio Silence and are also known for the recent scream reboot, ready or not 2 She meets him after the events of Grace’s murderous wedding night.
“We never dreamed ready or Not I will connect with people the same way I have over the past few years and am deeply honored to step back into the world of Grace,” say Gillette and Bettinelli-Olpin.
The directors say that returning to film with Weaving was “more emotional than we expected.”
“The original film really changed our lives in countless ways,” he says, “and seeing Samara back in that character and in that costume felt really special for us.

Weaving, 33, believes the reunion was emotional for everyone.
“I was a little nervous and I wasn’t sure I’d remember what I was doing the first time, but once I put that dress back on, I got super excited,” she says. “The whole character came back suddenly. Actually we were all quite emotional about that fitting. It’s one thing to see the character again but working with that crew again was the best part.”

This time the cast includes Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Sean Hatosy, Nestor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng and David Cronenberg.
“We can’t say enough about how much we love the cast of this film,” say Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin. “We think everyone really brings something special to their roles, and we’re thrilled with how scary, funny, and quirky these characters are.”

Weaving admits that “running around together through blood” brought the costars “even closer” during production. She says of her scene partners, “I would hang out with them every day if I could.” “I worship them all. Really. That’s not a lie.”
Newton, 28, says Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin wrote her character specifically with her in mind after working together on the 2024 vampire film. Abigail,
The actress says her character is “somewhat like me” and jokes that she “causes some problems – but the fun kind, I promise.”

As Weaving describes it, the sequel is “so raw, so ripe – you’ll love it.” “Those stupid writers came up with a way that’s somehow a natural progression and very surprising,” she jokes.
