Engemann poked fun at the authenticity of “Mormon Wives” in an Instagram post published on Sunday, November 23. In Post Engemann starred in a comedy skit in which a TV personality is having her lighting arranged by a hostile production crew who forces her to read a statement saying how much she loves working with lighting company Ruby Home Lighting.
“A little too close to home…😅,” Engemann captioned the post.
Engman’s joke didn’t sit well with Ngatikoura, who responded to her classmate’s reality-TV spoof on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, November 25.
“Dear, just because you do the script yourself doesn’t mean our show is scripted,” Ngatikoura wrote. “This behavior, level of confusion, and downward spiral must be studied.”
But the drama doesn’t end here, friends.
What is the ‘Fruity Pebbles’ play on ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’?
The “Fruity Pebbles” controversy on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” stems from a scene from Season 1, in which a group of classmates retell a “crazy sex story” Engeman allegedly told them about her and her husband, Brett Engeman, during a girls’ trip to California.
When Mikayla Matthews asked her co-stars Whitney Levitt and Macy Neely to explain this sordid tale, Levitt and Neely began dramatizing the sex act, which involved Neely lying on the ground while Levitt stood over her and briefly sat on her face.
During a show confessional interview, Levitt was asked about the meaning of the term “Fruity Pebbles” and Levitt stated that “the fruity cereal is related to the (taste) associated with the sexual act of the Engemanns”.
Jessie Ngatikoura explains the true meaning of ‘Fruity Pebbles’
Following her initial response post, Ngatikoura opened up about her contentious relationship with Engman on her Instagram Stories.
Responding to a taunting social media comment allegedly written by Engman that read, “Jesse is punching the air somewhere right now that Lisa is talking about me and not her,” Ngātikoura chose to reveal the true meaning of “Fruity Pebbles” in a scathing video.
“Since she wants to be petty and be a ——-, I think I’m just going to go ahead and say that Grandpa Brett likes to drink his (urine) like it’s dirty soda, and he swallows it like water,” Ngatikoura said. “And that’s ‘Fruity Pebbles’.”
Demi Enzman addresses Jessie Ngatikoura’s ‘Fruity Pebbles’ revelations
Engeman responded to Ngātikāura’s claims in a lengthy post on her Instagram stories on Tuesday. In addition to the “Fruity Pebbles” controversy, Enzmann also criticized her “Mormon Wives” costar for dismissing her previous claim of sexual assault in a separate video.
“What my husband and I did behind closed doors once became a consensual and private experience in our marriage,” Enzmann wrote. “I will not let a personal matter between my husband and I distract me from a serious matter to which I did not consent.”
She added, “I shared this information with Jessie in confidence almost two years ago. It is very clear that she is choosing to break the story and bring it out now, only after her own affair has come to light. This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to divert attention from her own behavior.”
Despite the controversy, Enzmann and her husband Brett embraced the pop cultural notoriety of “Fruity Pebbles” shortly after the release of Season 1 of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives”.
In a TikTok video from October 2024, Enzmann is seen eating a bowl of multicolored, Flintstones-themed cereal and asks Brett if he wants to eat, which he declines. However, moments later, Brett is seen sitting in a bath of Fruity Pebbles eagerly shoveling the cereal into his mouth.
“Yabba Dabba Doo!!! ???🥣,” Engman wrote.
