BBCA second man has appeared in court after four police officers were injured following an incident at a house in Londonderry on Thursday.
Eoin Carlin, 21, of Colne Lane, Derry, appeared at Dungannon Magistrates Court on Saturday morning.
He was arrested following an incident in Colne Lane on Thursday, in which he attacked police with a hunting knife during an arrest operation.
It was claimed in court on Saturday that as the officers moved in to make the arrest, the accused took out a knife with a five-inch blade from behind his back and attacked them.
As well as attempted murder, the accused has been charged with wounding, weapons possession, assault and drug offences.
His lawyer told the court that his client had received treatment for mental health difficulties.
He said his client did not realize he was working with the police until most of the incident.
And he said he had asked about the well-being of both officers involved during police interviews.
There was no bail application and he was remanded in custody to appear in person again at Derry Courthouse on 18 December.

Another man appeared in court on Friday charged with separate offenses linked to the same incident.
Conlon Boyle, 20, of Roskin Park, Derry, was charged with assaulting police officers and a custody detention officer.
He is also accused of spitting on officers and possessing Class B drugs.
He was arrested on Thursday morning after the incident.
The court was told Mr Boyle, who appeared via videolink, was wanted for breaching bail.
The Sub District Judge remanded him to custody to appear again on December 10.
