Are you curious about Jeffrey Epstein’s recently released emails but don’t feel like clicking through thousands of cumbersome files? Now there’s a way to search Epstein’s inbox much easier. And that’s both interesting and scary at the same time.
It’s called Jmail.world and it’s a project by Riley Walz and Luke Igel. They have created a tool that can best be described as the Jeffrey Epstein Inbox Simulator ’25. At least that’s how The Atlantic’s Charlie Warzel tells it. And that seems like an apt description.
Basically it looks like Gmail and has many of the same features. And while it’s a clever way to present the thousands of documents released by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, it’s essentially a very strange feeling to be placed in the shoes of the late sex trafficker.
“The problem was that the PDF mentioned above was difficult to read, so we felt it would be useful for people to put it in a familiar form with shareable links and easy-to-access screenshot views. We also wanted to focus on just emails in that drop,” Igel told Gizmodo over email.
Idel is the co-founder of Kino, an AI video assistant that allows users to index massive amounts of video. Idell says he previously worked at SpaceX, NASA, and was an undergraduate at MIT. And he created this tool with Riley Walz, who has created many clever projects in the past.
“Riley and I solved it in a few hours on Wednesday night using Cursor,” Igel told Gizmodo. “This is our first real coding project together! As you know, Riley has done many amazing things like this before.”
Igel told Gizmodo that this is “almost all” of the emails in the latest batch released by Congress. So while this is an interesting project, don’t necessarily assume it’s comprehensive. But it’s still an interesting way to browse a really heinous person’s inbox.
These emails are not the “Epstein files” everyone has been clamoring for for the past few years. Those files are still held by the Justice Department, although Congress has passed a law calling for their release. The question is whether they will ever see the light of day. President Trump has ordered a new investigation into Epstein’s ties to powerful Democrats, so many are worried the DOJ will say they can’t release any files because the investigation is ongoing. But time will tell.
