‘Scream 7’ Just Won’t Stop Making Money as ‘Scream 8’ Gets Started

No word on what direction that film will take or who may or may not return, but scream 7 Director Kevin Williamson recently said that he does not want to return to directing.

It’s a strange time for scream Franchise. On one hand, it is more popular than ever, experiencing its highest-grossing installment to date. But that installment was largely panned by critics and left the series in a creative black hole. stars of scream 5 And 6Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega unceremoniously (and controversially) left the franchise, opening the door for Neve Campbell’s return to Sydney. scream 7. Then, that film introduces Sidney’s daughter, who is also a contender to take over the franchise, though this doesn’t feel right in any way.

Whatever happens next for the franchise will, at least for now, depend on Zuckerman. And with his considerable experience telling serialized stories, we’re confident he has what it takes to bring scream Back to our glory. Or at least we hope. Because, no matter how good it is scream 7 has done and continues to do, we’re not sure if it was enough of a crowd-pleaser to bring everyone back next time.

Plus, by the time a horror franchise gets an eighth installment, the bar is usually pretty low, right? Ghostface has already taken over Manhattan in part six, so maybe they’ll go international next time? Or will you go to hell? We’ll probably find out sometime in 2028.
