After incorporating AI into every inch of its smartphones, appliances, and other devices, Samsung is now increasingly applying it to social media. Several videos posted on the company’s YouTube, Instagram and TikTok accounts in recent weeks were created or edited using generative AI tools, including its latest teaser for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.
The “Brighten up your after-hours” video features two people skateboarding at night, and reportedly shows off the low-light video capabilities of the upcoming Galaxy S26 devices. At the end of the video fine print appears at the bottom of the screen, indicating that it was “generated with the assistance of AI tools”, but even without the disclosure there are clear indications. For example, shopping bags full of vegetables appear artificially and unnaturally weighted, and road stones appear to slide around.
Most clips include a similar AI disclosure, but YouTube and Instagram have not specifically added their own AI labels to the “Brighten Your Later Hours” video, despite Google, Meta, and Samsung adopting C2PA – the authenticity standard used by most AI labeling systems. We’ve contacted Samsung, Meta and Google for comment.
